Of Campos and Cocolitas is an ongoing painting project that was first presented as a solo apartment exhibition. Through paintings of my immediate family, the work traces the ways people live, care for one another, and carry where they are from into daily life. As the project expands beyond my family, it follows the changing shape of Dominican domestic life across the Dominican Republic, attending to the ways industrialization and American influence reshape the home as a primary site through which culture is made, inherited, and transformed.
